I like to serve my Beef Teriyaki over fried rice or noodles. Teriyaki is a kid friendly introduction to Asian flavors because it's sweet and fairly safe flavors that aren't too salty. This Beef Teriyaki is the first Asian beef recipe I had the kids try and it's since led to a large variety of recipes they enjoy.

- Prepare Beef, slice 300 g
- Get Soy sauce
- Prepare Sugar
- Take Rice bran oil
- Prepare Sesame seed (a bit for sprinkle)
- Take Buk choy, blanch
The following recipe is my own interpretation, as I find I like less sugar than the amount the more authentic recipes call for. You don't need the most expensive steak for this either, because the marinade does a wonderful job of tenderising and mellowing meat. Mix together all sauce ingredients except the oil or butter. There are so many different ways to customize this recipe to your family's tastes.
Steps to make Beef teriyaki:
- Marinate beef, sugar and soy sauce in a bowl, wrap with plastic wrap and put in the fridge at least 30 minutes or overnight
- Heat a pan at medium high heat, add rice bran oil until start hot, add the beef, cook until brown based on your taste.
- Add buk choy in a plate and on top with beef, serve with streamed rice.
- Done, enjoy:)
Protein: Instead of sliced beef, you can use ground beef, or even chicken, shrimp or tofu. Vegetables: While I used bell peppers and broccoli, other great options are snow peas, mushrooms, carrots, bok choy or asparagus.
