Every year i wish to try some interesting sweets apart from our. Chandrakala is a dessert from Bihar, similar to gujia. The outer covering is made of flour and the stuffing is traditionally made using dry fruits like raisins, coconut, almonds, and cashews, along with khoa, semolina, cardamom, sugar, and pistachio. Chandrakala gets the name from the shape.
Steps to make Chandrakala sweets:
- Firstly we make the filling in a pan take 1 tsp ghee half cup mawa mix it well in low medium heat
- Then after it gets cool then add sugar in it and all dry fruits and saffron strands also
- Then make chashni 2 cup sugar 1 1/2 cup water put elaichi and saffron leaves in it boiled for 10 min make 1 string chasni
- Knead the dough with water cover for 10 min
- Divide the dough in equal sized balls roll it not very thin cut into round shape with bowl make another round shape
- Then fill the fillings of mawa apply the water on the edges seal properly fold and press repeat the process seal the end.
- Take one pan put ghee or oil fry in a low medium heat
- Deep fry all chandrakala until it turns golden brown
- Drop in hot sugar chashni put saffron strands and elaichi for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkles the fined chopped dry fruits and served in platter
