Steps to make Dalma:
- Soak all dals except moong in water at previous night. Add moong dal in the morning. After 30 minutes add 2 ltr water in a big vessel. Add dal,salt and boil for 10 minutes. Then add potato,taro,papaya, pumpkin. After 10 minutes add rest of vegetables. After 15 minutes add tomato pieces, coconut,ginger and chilli. Mix well and boil for 2 minutes. Add ghee into pan. Add 6 dry red chillies, panchforon,1 tsp cumin seeds. Saute for 30 seconds and add to the dal.
- Dry roast 6 dry red chillies, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper seeds, cumin seeds. Grind and add to dalma. Dalma is ready to serve with rice or roti.
